Getting started
Is PlanetChat free?
Yes. Random video chat, text chat, the feed, reels and direct messages are free to use. A paid Premium tier unlocks additional benefits.
Do I need to sign up to use it?
No. You can use random video chat as a guest. Signing up is required to post, follow, message friends, save settings and earn royalties on your sounds.
What's the minimum age?
You must be at least 13 to create an account. Random video matching and certain other features require you to be 18 or older.
How do I delete my account?
Open Settings and choose Delete account. Your data is removed within a reasonable period, subject to any legal-hold obligations.
Premium (coming soon)
What does Premium include?
Premium is planned to offer an ad-free experience, a profile badge, higher upload and matching limits, priority matching, and additional perks. Final feature list will be confirmed at launch.
How much does it cost?
Pricing will be announced ahead of launch. Subscriptions will renew automatically until cancelled and are billed by our payment processor.
Can I cancel any time?
Yes. You will retain access until the end of the paid period. Except where required by law, fees already paid are non-refundable.
Will Premium remove ads completely?
Yes — an ad-free interface is a core part of the Premium offering.
Verification
How do I get verified?
Open Apply for verification from your profile and upload a clear photo of a government-issued ID. Decisions are at our discretion and may take several days.
Is my ID secure?
Yes. Identity documents are uploaded to a private, access-restricted storage location, reviewed only by authorised personnel, and retained only as long as necessary.
Can my verified badge be removed?
Yes. We may revoke verified status at any time for breach of our Terms or for any other reasonable cause.
Does verification cost money?
No. Voluntary verification is free.
Sounds & royalties
What are original sounds?
When you upload a video, an original sound is automatically created and attributed to your account. Other users can reuse it in their own posts.
How do I earn?
Your in-app earnings ledger is credited each time your sound is played or reused, at rates published in the app. Credits are not guaranteed and rates may change.
When can I withdraw?
Payouts may be requested from the Earnings page once you reach the minimum threshold. Payouts are processed manually and subject to anti-fraud review.
What if my sound matches a copyrighted track?
We use audio fingerprinting (ACRCloud) to detect matches. If a match is found, the post may be re-linked to the detected track and royalties will not accrue to your account for that upload.
Safety & moderation
How does moderation work?
We use automated systems (including AI classifiers and audio fingerprinting) together with human review to detect prohibited content. Decisions resulting in account restrictions may be appealed in-app.
Are my messages read?
Direct messages are not routinely human-reviewed. They may be examined where required to investigate a report, comply with law, or protect against imminent harm.
How do I report someone?
Use the flag icon on any post, reel or profile, or the report option inside a chat. Reports are reviewed by our moderation team.
How do I block someone?
Open their profile and choose Block. Blocked users cannot match with you in random chat, message you, or interact with your content.
Account & data
Can I export my data?
Yes. Use the data-export tool in Settings to download a copy of your account data.
What information is public?
Your username, display name, avatar, bio, posts, reels and verified status are public. Email, date of birth, deletion status and last-seen are private.
